Tide Times in the Channel Islands

The Channel Islands — Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark, and Herm — located in the Gulf of Saint-Malo, experience some of the strongest tides in the world. The tidal range can reach 12 metres at Jersey, exposing a third of the island's surface at low tide. This spectacular phenomenon dramatically transforms the coastal landscape every 6 hours.

Despite belonging to the British Crown, these islands share the tidal regime of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. Currents between the islands can reach 7 knots, making navigation demanding. Jersey's immense foreshores offer exceptional shore fishing (abalone, lobsters, spider crabs), while the crystal-clear waters of Herm and Sark attract divers and kayakers from around the world.
